Welcome!!!!

Hello and welcome to the I.B. Perrine Computer Lab Blog.  It is so fun to have your students in class and watch them learn and grow. We have a great school with AMAZING students.

Each class attends the computer lab once a week.  Grades 2nd through 5th attend for 50 minutes, 1st grade for 45 minutes, and Kindergarten for 30 minutes.

Our goal in the computer lab is to teach students basic computer and typing skills. We have several ways in which we hope to achieve these goals.

The first one is a great typing program which is new to our school this year.  It is called Type to Learn 4.  In this program students learn typing skills through fun lessons and games.  Watch for an upcoming post on how you can download this program so your child can practice at home as well.  This program is used by grades 2nd through 5th.

Other ways of teaching your children will be through lessons on basic computer skills.  They will be learning the different parts of the computer, good typing habits, how to use the basics of Microsoft Office, and other lessons to help them grow their knowledge of computers.

It is a joy and a privilege to work with these students.  We are looking forward to a great year!

Here are some pictures of our computer lab.
